Artwork Tips

Print

We understand that preparing your own artwork can often be a little confusing. We’ve compiled a quick guide below which will hopefully help with any queries you may have. If you would like further help with providing your files in a print ready format please call our graphics provider, Premier Graphics, and a member of their design team will be happy to assist you with the process. Our account manager is Senior Creative Designer Matt TerBurgh. He is available via direct email at turbo@mysigndesign.com or call 616-301-9000 ask for “Turbo.”

Design

Print ready artwork means you provide us with a file which we will print directly from.

If you don’t have print ready artwork to send us we can create it for you. Our talented team of graphic designers will work with your ideas and preferences to give you a design that compliments your business. Providing logo and art files that are print friendly should follow these requirements:

  • Ask your artist to provide: High resolution professional software files
  • EPS files are the most versatile. SVG, AI, CDR, and Photoshop files are all possibilities depending on your image.
  • JPG/TIF: Are not recommended but if necessary: 300 dpi and larger than 6” X 6” real world size.  Send them as large as possible if you are unsure and we can evaluate it for print quality.

Template

The provided template must be use and NOT ALTERED. It is not necessary but recommended to have individual files for the top and sides of your jockey box.

Resolution

All images provided for printing should be at least 300 dpi/ppi. All wraps will be printed at 300 dpi.

Color

Color is RGB not CMYK. Spot (PMS) colors are better represented with this format.  However, no printer will be able to precisely recreate specific tones.  If your marketing strategy requires a low tolerance on colors, extra charges may be incurred for Test Prints and a sign off will be required prior to final production.

Bleed

The templates we provide have adequate bleed for our projects.

PDF Files

In order to provide proper PDF files you will need professional vector based software or industry standard imaging and photo editing software. To provided “camera ready” PDF files.

Before sending your file open and check for any errors that may have occurred when converting the original document to PDF. It is good practice to open the file you intend to send in other software to see how it has transferred.

Other file formats we accept are:

Illustrator (.ai)

Convert all text to ‘outlines’ and embed all images. All colors need to be RGB. Save as an .eps or .ai file.

Photoshop (.psd)

All colors and images need to be RGB not CMYK and set at 300dpi.  Provided templates are to size and ready for print.

Corel Draw (.cdr)

Convert all text to ‘curves’. We are able to use most Corel files as is.  We will let you know of any issues.

Flexisign (.fp)

Convert all text to ‘outlines’ and rasterize all images. We print directly from Flexi.  We will let you know of any issues.

Test Prints

Upon request and for an additional small fee, we can send you a small test print of your vinyl wrap prior to production. Please note that this will delay your scheduled production date.
